I support Church Whip and Merchandise. You people are total fucking divas.

Referring to a land as being “raped” is very old phrasing that brings up imagery of wicked ass vikings and pagan hordes destroying everything. I am NOT a rapist apologist and I in NO way oppose feminism, but I still don’t give a fuck if you’re offended by a word that’s used in a non discriminatory context. That is on you, not the supposed “offender.”

I swear to god you might just all be giant poseurs. None of you seem to realize/remember that Minor Threat, Dead Kennedys, and Black Flag suffered from similar controversies. GET REAL.

RAPING, IN THE INTENDED LITERARY SENSE, IS EXPLAINED AS HARM OR DESTRUCTION CAUSED BY USING A PLACE, SPECIFICALLY AN AREA OF LAND, IN AN UNSUITABLE WAY. SIMILARLY THE ACT OF DESTROYING OR SPOILING AN AREA IN A WAY THAT SEEMS UNNECESSARY (I.E. THE ROAD BUILDERS WERE ACCUSED OF THE RAPE OF THE COUNTRYSIDE). THE VERY WORD ITSELF ORIGINATES FROM THE LATIN VERB RAPERE: TO SEIZE OR TAKE BY FORCE. THE WORD ORIGINALLY HAD NO SEXUAL CONNOTATION AND IS STILL USED GENERICALLY IN ENGLISH BUT THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR. AS THIS WOULD BE DEVOID OF CONTROVERSY AND SCANDAL. THE TRAGEDY LIES IN THE FACT THAT YOU ALREADY POSSESS THIS KNOWLEDGE. PERHAPS IT IS US WHO SHOULD ACCUSE YOU. ACCUSE YOU OF “RAPING THE CONTEXT”. NEVER ONCE DID WE ALLUDE TO ANY DISCERNIBLE SEXUAL CONNOTATION OR CLAIM WE PROLIFERATE RAPE APOLOGISM”
